Job description

The Manufacturing Test Engineer at Bee is responsible for developing and maintaining the factory test infrastructure for wearable AI devices. This role combines mechanical engineering and software skills to ensure quality and efficiency in production. The engineer will work closely with contract manufacturers and the internal team to troubleshoot issues and improve test processes. The position offers a unique opportunity to impact product quality from prototype to mass production.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

Responsibilities

  • Own the full factory test line for Bee's wearable devices, including both Board Functional Testing and Assembly Functional Testing.
  • Develop and maintain the Python-based test software that communicates with devices via BLE and USB.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and improve mechanical test fixtures to ensure alignment with cost, scale, and device tolerances.
  • Define test strategies and pass/fail limits for new products and provide feedback to hardware and firmware teams.
  • Compile and analyze production test data to drive continuous improvement and root-cause failures.
  • Drive factory test quality improvements through corrective actions and monitoring functional test yield.
  • Own RF/BLE validation testing, including RSSI measurement and wireless connectivity verification.
  • Support acoustic test development and integration with production audio test equipment.
  • Travel internationally to bring up new test lines and support production ramp.
  • Lead DOEs to root-cause test-station failures and provide feedback to engineering teams.
