Job description

As an Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will lead cross-functional projects focused on developing sortation and distribution solutions. You will manage the lifecycle of technology and integration projects while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. This role requires a customer-obsessed leader who can effectively communicate project statuses and mitigate risks. You will also be responsible for optimizing systems and ensuring timely project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field
  • 1+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, or BIM 360
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field is preferred
  • Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage complex project lifecycles across organizations and geographies.
  • Participate in engineering reviews to impact system solutions and facility processes.
  • Partner with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to set priorities and drive schedules.
  • Lead execution of systems and automated equipment designs per established standards.
  • Facilitate effective meetings with clear objectives and document discussions.
  • Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans promptly.
  • Articulate system and equipment designs to internal customers and partners.
  • Manage change orders, purchase orders, and invoice approvals efficiently.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that enhance team efficiency.
