Job description

The Senior Manufacturing Test Development Engineer for Machine Learning at Google will play a crucial role in developing custom silicon solutions for Google's products. This position is part of the Machine Learning New Product Introduction team, which ensures the seamless integration of new technologies into manufacturing processes. The engineer will manage test development schedules and budgets while advocating for design-for-testability. This role is essential for delivering high-performance hardware experiences to users worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience with architecting complex manufacturing test solutions for CPU/GPU based products.
  • Experience in technical leadership, project management, and executive communication.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document comprehensive manufacturing test strategies that balance test coverage, production capacity, and technical risk.
  • Oversee board and system-level test development, managing schedules, budgets, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Identify technical and operational risks, developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with design engineering teams to drive Design for Test initiatives and maintain communication with stakeholders.
  • Author and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including end-to-end test processes and detailed test plans.
