Job description

The Principal Architect for Higher Education at Google Public Sector will work within the Customer Engineering organization to assist public sector institutions in designing and implementing cloud strategies. This role combines technical expertise with business insight, requiring the individual to engage with high-level stakeholders and lead the execution of sales strategies. The position emphasizes building trusted relationships with education accounts and providing domain expertise in public cloud and enterprise technology. The architect will also be responsible for promoting Google Cloud solutions and optimizing their effectiveness for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience with higher education markets in the state of California.
  • Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Build a trusted advisory relationship with education accounts and engage with high-level stakeholders to identify customer priorities and design strategies.
  • Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, promoting Google Cloud with public sector customers.
  • Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement complete solutions.
  • Manage the enterprise architecture relationship with customers by collaborating with specialists, product management, and technical teams.
  • Perform onsite client-facing work at least 3 days a week with Stanford University.
