JobsResearch Scientist, Quantum Error Correction, Quantum AI
Job description
The Quantum Research Scientist role focuses on developing quantum error correction schemes for fault-tolerant quantum computing, particularly with superconducting qubits and high-connectivity platforms. This position involves addressing challenges related to entangling links between chips and developing fault-tolerant circuits for logical gates. The scientist will also contribute to the research community by publishing findings and collaborating with partner universities and technical institutes. The goal is to advance quantum computing capabilities and enable meaningful applications.
Requirements
- PhD degree in a Quantum Computing domain such as Math, Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- Research publication experience in quantum error correction.
- 1 year of experience owning and initiating research agendas.
Responsibilities
- Develop new quantum codes that achieve high encoding rates and favorable hardware layouts.
- Adapt error correction circuits to hardware constraints on connectivity.
- Analyze fault-tolerant circuits for syndrome measurement and logical operations.
- Simulate quantum codes under noise models and evaluate their performance.
Benefits
- Employees at Google are often offered benefits like comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, and flexible work arrangements, among other benefits.
