Job description

The Senior Hardware Systems Engineer for Watches at Google will be part of the Pixel Watch Electrical Engineering team, responsible for the end-to-end hardware development of Google's first-party Watch products. This role involves collaborating with product managers during the design phases and managing the entire hardware lifecycle. The engineer will focus on technical design development, optimization, and work closely with external suppliers for manufacturing. The position requires a blend of electrical engineering expertise and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a consumer electronics technical environment, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • Experience managing electrical subsystems or entire products from concept architecture through mass production.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence OrCAD/Allegro or Altium.
  • Experience in digital and analog circuit design, including high-speed signal integrity and board-level power design.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the electrical design integration and validation of Google's Watch products.
  • Deliver the boards by performing all design tasks including schematic and layout, collaborating with product design and subsystem teams.
  • Bring up the system, plan validation, troubleshoot, and conduct measurements.
  • Debug issues discovered from factory production, reliability, user trials, and RMA.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on design requirements, board routing optimization, and drive engineering activities during the NPI phase.
