Job description

The Chip CAD DevOps Engineer role at Google Cloud focuses on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration through the development of custom silicon solutions. The position involves working with a creative team to innovate hardware development processes and improve industry standards. You will leverage your expertise in design and verification to contribute to the architecture of Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) and their integration within AI/ML systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend software design practices with hardware development complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in software development, SystemVerilog, or electronic design automation (EDA).
  • Experience with industry-standard tools, languages, and methodologies relevant to the development of silicon-based ICs and chips.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a chip design team is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own chip development workflows such as integration, or source control and review.
  • Create software solutions that improve the hardware design process through automation.
  • Work with Chip teams on projects, prototype, and then deploy tools to positively impact Google's chip hardware development methodology.
  • Develop CAD solutions including flow automation, dashboards, and write documentation.
