Job description
The Hardware Validation Engineer role at Google focuses on making technical contributions to medium-scale design or validation projects. The position involves physical interaction with hardware in a simulated data center environment, requiring collaboration with various teams to develop and maintain system-level testbeds. The AI and Infrastructure team aims to empower Google customers with advanced capabilities by delivering AI and infrastructure solutions at scale. This role is essential for supporting new product engineering and development in Google's hardware research and development labs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certification in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- 1 year of experience working in a hardware engineering technical environment.
- Experience with Linux, networking, network troubleshooting, failure diagnosis, and debugging/troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Help design and build system-level testbeds and maintain lab space, tools, and infrastructure.
- Work with teams to develop software and hardware systems and develop methodologies and tools to support team members.
- Coordinate the interactions between labs and engineering.
- Anticipate and resolve problems by applying knowledge and skills, escalating design, manufacturing, and product test issues when appropriate.
- Generate implementation plans and provide technical expertise and guidance during deployment activities.
