Job description
As a Transportation Design Engineer at Jacobs, you will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment focused on urban and rural transportation projects. Your role will involve conducting drainage analysis and design, as well as preparing technical reports and construction plans. You will collaborate with other project engineers and provide support to ensure compliance with state and local transportation agency requirements. This position emphasizes teamwork and the importance of in-person interactions while allowing for a hybrid work setup.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Professional Engineering license.
- 4-6 years of experience in hydrology and hydraulic engineering and drainage systems design.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed drainage analysis and design of transportation projects.
- Conduct drainage analysis and design per the requirements of the project and various state and local public transportation agencies.
- Provide support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of project-specific drainage reports and technical memoranda.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Transportation Group Leader and/or Project Managers/Engineers as needed.
