As a Software Development Engineer II in the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, you will take ownership of production systems that manage the complete data lifecycle. Your work will involve maintaining and enhancing existing services while designing new solutions to meet the needs of business application teams. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to improve AI models while ensuring compliance with privacy and security standards. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex challenges related to secure data storage and efficient querying at scale.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and operations
- Working knowledge of AWS services for data processing and machine learning such as S3 and SageMaker
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Production experience implementing data access controls and authorization systems
- Knowledge of PII handling and privacy-preserving techniques
- Experience building self-service platforms for data management
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver complete software features for event-based data storage systems from design through deployment.
- Maintain, refactor, and enhance existing storage and analytics platforms to improve performance and scalability.
- Design and implement software solutions for data access interfaces and authorization systems.
- Mentor team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Resolve operational issues by identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes.
- Work directly with business application teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Take ownership of security implementations including encryption and access controls.
- Drive improvements to self-service platforms and control planes.
