Job description
Join Apple's mmW and cellular wireless design team as an RF/mmW test engineer, where you will play a crucial role in the characterization of wireless communication devices. This position focuses on the development and validation of RF and cellular SoCs, ensuring they meet high design specifications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance connectivity experiences for Apple customers. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing RF performance through rigorous testing and validation methodologies.
Requirements
- BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience in RF validation, RF testing, or silicon characterization.
- Hands-on experience bringing up and testing RFICs, including system integration, characterization, and optimization.
- Strong verification, problem-solving, and debugging skills with the ability to resolve complex RF issues.
- Proficiency with lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience with bench automation and scripting languages like Python.
- MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of board schematics and layout, with experience defining hardware board requirements for lab validation.
- Experience with mmWave technology.
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing verification and algorithm validation.
- Demonstrated experience supporting ATE engineers and/or mass production testing.
Responsibilities
- Design test strategies and develop validation frameworks for RF and cellular SoCs.
- Implement test plans to meet project schedules and metric requirements.
- Characterize and optimize RF performance across diverse operating conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive silicon bring-up and debug complex issues.
- Continuously improve validation methodologies to enhance product performance.
