Job description
The Optical Engineering team within Camera Core Technology Engineering at Apple is seeking a Simulation Development Engineer. This role focuses on developing advanced modeling and simulation solutions for Optical Imaging Systems, facilitating early feedback for product design. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams and be responsible for validating and scaling simulation tools. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a passion for innovation and collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Optics, Imaging Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field of study
- Programming experience in Python, Matlab, and/or C/C++/C#
- Experience modeling and simulating optical systems using tools like Zemax or Code V
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Understanding of imaging systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Cloud Computing
- Fluent in both oral and written English
Responsibilities
- Develop state-of-the-art end-to-end modeling and simulation solutions for Optical Imaging Systems
- Provide early feedback to Apple product design through simulation tools
- Validate and scale up simulation tools for future technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to solve complex problems
- Present ideas and build consensus with teammates
