This role is for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) on the Raven Team, which is part of AWS Infrastructure Security. The team focuses on automating the lifecycle management of physical security devices across AWS data centers globally. The main focus of the role is on developing the Skyward platform for Zero-Touch Provisioning and contributing to the Red Zone Passport application stack. The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse team and tackle complex challenges in security automation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services, APIs, and orchestration workflows for security device provisioning
- Develop integrations with internal systems for device discovery and operational monitoring
- Build event-driven architectures using AWS services to process device lifecycle events
- Contribute to AI/ML-powered features for automating device naming and configuration
- Partner with security engineers and project managers to translate workflows into software solutions
- Help evolve and maintain the red zone access and compliance platform
- Own deliverables end-to-end from design through deployment and operations
