Job description

As a Principal Software Engineer on the DeFi Yield Gen Platform team, you will develop a secure crypto yield generation platform while collaborating with engineers across Fidelity. This role involves mentoring junior engineers and utilizing modern software development practices. The team is part of Fidelity Digital Assets®, which focuses on innovative solutions for digital asset management. You will work in a dynamic environment that emphasizes agility and creativity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering using programming languages like RUST
  • Hands-on experience building resilient services in RUST
  • Proficient in databases and SQL
  • Familiarity with L1 & L2 blockchains such as Ethereum is a plus
  • An understanding of microservice architecture
  • Experience building unit and integration tests
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and containerization technologies such as Docker is a plus
  • Experience with asynchronous workers and resilient messaging services such as SNS and SQS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Mentor engineers on best practices for software development
  • Build reliable software that can withstand unreliable environments
  • Participate in engineering practices such as code and design reviews
  • Build and deploy applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins Core
  • Collaborate with technical leaders and architects to develop the platform
  • Work well in both a small agile team and independently
  • Handle multiple tasks while maintaining strong analytical and communication skills
