Job description
The role at Rivian involves working within a high-functioning team to define and enhance the performance of electric vehicles. You will be responsible for calibrating and testing anti-lock braking and electronic stability control systems, ensuring they meet Rivian's performance standards. This position requires collaboration across various engineering teams to solve complex challenges in vehicle dynamics and control systems. Requirements
- B.S. Degree (or higher) in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in Automotive Development or a similar industry.
- Experience in data acquisition via CAN or XCP and analyzing data to inform calibration changes.
- Deep knowledge of control systems, vehicle dynamics, and brake systems.
- Strong first principles background with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, MATLAB, Python, and Simulink.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% during Winter Test Seasons.
Responsibilities
- Own the target setting, calibration, and development of anti-lock braking and electronic stability control systems for R2.
- Collaborate with brake suppliers to integrate their software with Rivian's software environment.
- Evaluate vehicle performance to ensure it meets Rivian's standards.
- Provide feedback and direction to a team of calibration engineers.
- Use data to correlate subjective evaluations and make data-driven decisions.
- Define and organize testing programs to gather detailed performance information.
- Conduct performance tests, including coordination, data processing, and report generation.
- Instrument vehicles prior to testing and operate data acquisition systems.
- Benchmark competitive vehicles and refine Rivian's target metrics.
- Help develop full vehicle simulation models and optimize vehicle platform development.
