Job description

The Quantitative Taxable team within the Quantitative Research group at Strategic Advisers is focused on developing investment methodologies for managing personalized client portfolios. This team collaborates with various departments to enhance portfolio construction processes and deliver optimal after-tax benefits for clients. The role involves significant research and design work at the intersection of investment management and personalized financial planning. Analysts will work on projects related to asset location, multi-account optimization, and tax-loss harvesting.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in a related field such as Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Decision Science, or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative investment research and portfolio construction roles.
  • Experience with quantitative portfolio construction methods and portfolio optimization.
  • Solid programming and database skills, including Python, R, SQL, and BI Tools.
  • Experience with quantitative portfolio tools such as Barra, Axioma, and Factset.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop quantitative investment techniques and methodologies.
  • Develop tax-smart techniques for managing portfolios for taxable clients.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management, research, and portfolio engineering teams.
  • Design and back-test strategies, run simulations, and perform risk and after-tax analyses.
  • Articulate the rationale for specific recommendations and communicate them clearly.
