The Senior Security & Compliance Engineer at AWS Security Assurance Services will innovate security and compliance solutions for customers. This role involves leading the design, deployment, and implementation of complex AWS security controls and automations. The engineer will work on identifying and mitigating security risks while ensuring compliance with various frameworks. The team focuses on delivering scalable security solutions that drive business outcomes for both internal and external customers.

• 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
• 5+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review experience in common programming languages.
• Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience in Cyber Security and in at least one relevant technical area.
• Experience in the full secure software development life cycle.
• Experience writing and deploying reusable policy-as-code.
• Hands-on expertise with the AWS Security Reference Architecture and Well-Architected Framework.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS security and governance services.
• Hands-on technical experience in incident response technology.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional and Security Specialty strongly preferred.

• Engineer AI-enabled automations and lead threat modeling and security design reviews.
• Own design and architecture choices for security and compliance automation solutions.
• Build secure-by-default IaC modules for various architectures and workloads.
• Lead the design, deployment, and implementation of AWS security controls.
• Architect custom preventive, detective, and proactive controls.
• Set standards for authentication, authorization, data handling, and secure design.
• Write and review architecture, code, scripts, and IaC.
• Lead alignment, resolve escalations, and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Develop technical content such as sample code and reference architectures.
• Communicate security risk and design decisions to various audiences.
• Identify and shape sales opportunities and provide input to AWS service-team roadmaps.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.
