Job description

The AWS DynamoDB team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to enhance observability and scaling for their distributed key-value database service. The role involves building instrumentation to analyze performance and drive latency reduction efforts. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Build the tools to observe per-customer and per-component performance
  • Deep dive and continuously improve performance to ensure superior customer experience
  • Scale distributed systems with an optimal balance between performance and cost
  • Automate and improve repetitive operational processes
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and communicate with stakeholders
