Amazon Industrial Robotics is looking for a Regulatory Compliance Engineer to support the development of advanced robotics systems. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards for industrial robot systems. The ideal candidate will work with cross-functional teams to guide compliant design development and lead product certification efforts. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
- 6+ years of compliance experience fielding industrial robot systems or equivalent
- Experience interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, and test laboratories
- Experience supporting contract manufacturers with NRTL factory inspections
- Knowledge of EMC regulations pertaining to FCC, Industry Canada, EN 61000-6-x, etc.
- Certified Machine Safety Expert (CMSE) or equivalent certification
- Experience in risk management and performing task-based risk assessments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Determine applicable regulations, standards, and safety requirements for new industrial machinery with emphasis on industrial robot systems
- Ensure Amazon products are safe, compliant, operationally effective, and cost-effective
- Serve as compliance subject matter expert, educating product teams on regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with third-party test agencies to test and validate Amazon products
- Lead certification of Amazon's products, working cross-functionally with Compliance, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Partner with Amazon suppliers to communicate regulatory requirements and verify compliance of third-party products
