The Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the security of the AWS Marketplace third-party catalog. This role involves setting security standards, monitoring vulnerabilities, and ensuring the protection of customer data. The engineer will collaborate closely with Application Security and Engineering teams to maintain high security standards. This position offers high visibility and a direct impact on millions of AWS customers.

• 4+ years of non-internship experience in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools.
• 5+ years of experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years of non-internship experience in scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
• Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques.
• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures/microservices and web services.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience in identifying industry-based security vulnerabilities, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.

• Own the security strategy for the AWS Marketplace third-party catalog.
• Identify systemic risks across the catalog and lead remediation campaigns.
• Investigate and respond to security findings, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Partner with Application Security to drive threat modeling and secure design reviews.
• Define and raise security standards for sellers and internal teams.
• Mentor engineers on secure development practices and cloud security.
• Represent Marketplace security in cross-AWS forums.
