Job description

The team is seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer to create sensing-based experiences for future Home and Audio products. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of sensing devices and firmware capabilities. This role involves architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining hardware and firmware while ensuring high-quality sensor integration. The engineer will play a crucial role in launching innovative product features.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years of firmware and device driver development in bare-metal or RTOS environments, ideally in consumer electronics.
  • 5+ years of sensing system hardware engineering experience with various sensing technologies.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role with strong decision-making and team management skills.
  • Strong coding skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience in optimizing software for resource-constrained embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, and maintain hardware and firmware for Apple home and audio products.
  • Oversee overall sensor integration in the product to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Engage in rapid prototyping, hardware bring-up, and software feature design and development.
  • Learn how to quantify and test new technologies.
  • Travel domestically and internationally for development and on-site manufacturing support.
