Job description

The System Development Engineer II role on the CIA Onboardings team focuses on transforming the network onboarding process for Amazon's fulfillment centers. This position involves building scalable systems that enhance the onboarding experience for solution owners and third-party integrators. The team is dedicated to creating automation that reduces onboarding time while ensuring network security and reliability. Engineers in this role will work on critical platforms and collaborate with various teams to drive innovation in operational technologies.

Requirements

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automation for network onboarding workflows that serve hundreds of fulfillment centers globally.
  • Develop features for NC2 and related platforms that enable same-day, friction-less onboarding experiences.
  • Design scalable back end systems and APIs that integrate with Amazon's challenging network infrastructure.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including security, network engineering, and deployment teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure high availability of critical and challenging onboarding systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing and documentation.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
