Job description
The Commissioning Project Engineer (CxPE) plays a crucial role in delivering data center capacity by managing project milestone auditing, calibration, and commissioning execution for new construction and Capital Improvement Projects. This position is part of a career development program aimed at transitioning the CxPE into a Commissioning Engineer through a structured mentoring process. Working within AWS Infrastructure Services, the CxPE collaborates with a diverse team to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity for customers. The role emphasizes learning and development within a supportive and inclusive culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
- 1+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Qualified trades personnel in Mechanical, Electrical or relevant discipline.
- Experience in vendor negotiation and management for data center or upgrade construction contracts.
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement documents.
- Experience with scheduling post vendors and creating delivery schedules from the beginning to end of production cycles.
Responsibilities
- Manage the creation of projects within internal Amazon systems.
- Manage the administrative tasks related to the commissioning process.
- Support the Request for Quote process, ensuring all relevant documentation is available for the commissioning vendors.
- Manage the required vendor project deliverables ensuring on-time delivery for the CxE's review.
- Manage project resourcing ensuring all vendors comply with the Leads Qualification Process (LQP).
- Create and manage the approval of the Change Management requests for the commissioning activities of the assigned project.
