The Customer Engineer III, Platform role at Google Cloud focuses on partnering with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud offerings to customers. The role involves troubleshooting technical questions, conducting proofs-of-concept, and architecting cross-pillar cloud solutions. The engineer will play a key role in understanding customer needs and driving engagement within existing business workloads.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
- Experience engaging with, or presenting to, technical stakeholders or executive leaders.
- Experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy, participating in planning and supporting targeted sales motions.
- Combine sales, programming, and solutions architecture expertise to prove the value of Google Cloud Platform through demos, pilots, and in-depth workshops.
- Architect cross-pillar solutions, drive technical wins, and define initial delivery plans for customers.
- Collaborate with capacity and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to proactively de-risk Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters ahead of massive seasonal traffic spikes.
- Facilitate the post-sales transition and overall delivery life-cycle by supporting pricing activities and providing ongoing support to cross-functional teams.
