Job description

The Staff Product Data Scientist for Workspace Monetization at Google will play a crucial role in driving business growth and enhancing user value across the Workspace suite of productivity applications. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency in data science and the ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role involves partnering with product and engineering teams to influence product strategies through data-driven insights. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex projects and guiding colleagues in their specialization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding in languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Master's degree in a related quantitative field is preferred.
  • 12 years of work experience in analytics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought partner to Engineering and Product Management leads by providing data-driven perspectives on product direction and opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to identify significant opportunities for growing the Workspace business and user value.
  • Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Own project outcomes by defining problems, developing metrics, extracting and manipulating data, visualizing results, and implementing statistical models.
  • Lead and manage ambiguous problems by framing hypotheses and making recommendations based on problem-solving and product-specific expertise.
