This role involves constructing statistical models and conducting quantitative analyses to enhance risk management decision-making for clients. You will be part of McKinsey's data analytics team, focusing on risk analytics within the global Risk & Resilience practice. The team collaborates with various financial institutions to develop sustainable modeling and analytics platforms. You will also contribute to internal knowledge development and engage in client projects to solve complex business problems.
Requirements
- Master's degree in quantitative fields such as mathematics, statistics, analytics, computational finance, computer science, economics, financial engineering, physics, or another relevant field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in quantitative modeling using advanced analytics tools such as Python or R.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial mathematics including stochastic calculus and probability theory.
- Experience programming in a modern scientific language such as Python, Matlab, or R, and familiarity with TensorFlow, Spark, Java, C#, C++, or C.
- Knowledge of SQL and SAS is a plus.
- Knowledge of VaR, stress-testing, and scenario analysis is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate statistical models for credit, stress testing, cash-flow modeling, and hedging.
- Apply advanced analytical tools and statistical modeling techniques to derive business insights.
- Disaggregate and structure complex business problems to evaluate different analytical approaches.
- Contribute to team problem solving through findings and insights from analysis.
- Facilitate data integration and management between clients and McKinsey.
- Establish connections between modeling techniques and strategic decision-making processes.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and clients at all organizational levels.
