Job description

The Lead, Engineering Excellence role at Bain involves working with a diverse engineering team to enhance AI-assisted maturity across various industries. You will focus on developing and implementing AI applications while promoting modern software development practices. This position requires collaboration with product and engineering teams to drive transformation in engineering organizations. The role also includes providing technical guidance to clients and stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with full-stack development
  • 2+ years of experience with micro-service API development
  • 1+ years of experience with AI tools
  • Strong knowledge in development best practices
  • Deep understanding of large language models and transformer architectures
  • Strong Python proficiency for AI development

Responsibilities

  • Help clients improve AI-assisted or AI-led maturity across people, process, and technology
  • Design, develop, and document AI applications aligned to business outcomes
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle including architecture design and code reviews
  • Drive AI-led or AI-assisted transformation to improve productivity and quality
  • Scope, architect, design, develop, build, and release robust and scalable applications
  • Build end-to-end AI agent systems and develop optimized retrieval-augmented generation pipelines
