Job description

The Azure Hyperscale Networking team is expanding to address the growing challenges of network traffic and AI transformation within Azure services. The team is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to network traffic engineering, quality, and reliability. This role involves working collaboratively with stakeholders to define user requirements and developing design documents with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will have a strong coding background and a commitment to improving system performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  • Contribute to the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
  • Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
  • Contribute to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimation.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Stay current in skills by investing time and effort into developments that improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.
