Job description

The Applied Scientist role at Microsoft focuses on leveraging expertise in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science to enhance Bing and Consumer Copilot. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience.
  • Master's Degree in the relevant fields AND 1+ year(s) related experience.
  • Doctorate in the relevant fields or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own production machine learning models to improve results.
  • Work hands-on with state-of-the-art generative models to deliver significant impact.
  • Find insights and form hypotheses on large-scale data using various machine learning techniques.
  • Design experiments, analyze resulting data, and produce actionable conclusions.
  • Wrangle large amounts of data using various tools, including open-source ones.
  • Provide concise answers to complex problems to assist senior executives in decision-making.
