Job description
The Quantum Hardware Design Engineer will join the quantum hardware design/simulation team at IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. This team focuses on delivering quantum processor designs and developing methodologies for their success. The role involves working on designs ranging from quantum processing units to testsite designs, utilizing IBM's proprietary superconducting technology. Collaboration with diverse teams and contributing to innovative breakthroughs in quantum technologies are key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with RF/microwave/IC design tooling or PCB design.
- Tapeout experience in deep submicron CMOS, III-V, or superconducting technologies.
- Familiarity with hardware development tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Synopsys Custom Compiler.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design releases for quantum processing units and related testsites.
- Conduct detailed mask layout and chip finishing for quantum hardware releases.
- Develop layout models for quantum hardware components.
- Perform basic connectivity and schematic capture for quantum hardware circuitry.
