Job description
As a Senior Back-end Engineer at IBM, you will play a crucial role in the development of the Vault initiative, enhancing a flagship security product for large-scale workloads. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers across different geographies to build secure and scalable components. This hands-on position emphasizes high-quality code and system reliability, while also mentoring junior engineers. Your contributions will directly impact the security and performance of IBM's offerings.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or Python with 5+ years of experience.
- Solid understanding of APIs and system design fundamentals.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and an interest in identity/security engineering.
- Ability to take ownership of engineering discussions across stakeholders.
- Experience using or willingness to adopt AI engineering tools to improve productivity and code quality.
Responsibilities
- Implement features and enhancements within the Vault work stream.
- Lead design discussions and evaluate options for component implementation.
- Mentor junior engineers on best engineering practices.
- Participate in debugging, performance optimizations, and incident analysis.
- Provide timely updates to technical leads and collaborate with product managers to refine requirements.
