Job description

As a z/OS Infrastructure Storage Consultant at IBM, you will specialize in providing infrastructure services solutions for clients utilizing IBM Z and LinuxONE technologies. You will work within a collaborative team environment, leveraging your extensive experience to deliver tailored solutions that meet unique client needs. Your role will involve engaging with clients to understand their requirements and developing comprehensive strategies that align with their business objectives. This position emphasizes the importance of technical expertise combined with strong interpersonal skills to drive digital transformation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with z/OS.
  • Deep skills in mainframe storage administration including DASD and Tape.
  • Knowledgeable in DFSMS and DFHSM as well as other storage management vendor products.
  • Experience with programming in REXX or other languages is strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with cloud object storage and IBM Transparent Cloud Tiering implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class infrastructure services solutions for clients with IBM Z, LinuxONE, and associated software.
  • Utilize expertise to deliver tailored solutions that ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert guidance throughout the solution delivery process.
  • Design and develop comprehensive solution strategies that align with clients' business objectives.
  • Help clients consolidate z/OS LPARs and implement best practices for DFSMShsm.
