Job description

The Software Developer role at IBM is focused on designing, developing, and deploying innovative cloud services within the IBM Cloud Core Platform Services team. This dynamic team is dedicated to creating highly-available and distributed cloud solutions, emphasizing security and user experience. The position requires a strong technical background and offers the opportunity to mentor the next generation of cloud engineers. Candidates will engage in problem-solving and collaboration with various teams to enhance cloud service architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience delivering complex, enterprise-grade systems.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building production-grade applications using Java, Node.js, or Golang.
  • 5+ years of experience building, deploying, and operating cloud services on platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
  • 3+ years of experience working with modern web and API technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert and major contributor for designs and implementation efforts of the IBM Cloud Platform Services ecosystem.
  • Develop highly-available, distributed cloud services with an emphasis on security, scalability, and user experience.
  • Read open specifications and RFC documents and convert them to design documents and implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for improving existing tools, frameworks, and workflows.
  • Document and share experiences with team members while mentoring others.
