Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an outstanding build engineer to enhance the build, testing, packaging, and developer experience for its accelerated computing platform. This role involves working on critical projects such as the CUDA driver and toolkit, contributing to the foundational libraries and infrastructure that support various workloads including deep learning and HPC. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering leadership to manage build processes across multiple platforms and environments. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems/Software/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent academic experience after BS
  • Experience working across multiple highly-coupled projects using Git or another version control system
  • Experience working with C/C++ and Python projects
  • Familiarity with CMake, pip, conda or other tools for C/C++ or Python build and packaging
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems including Github and Gitlab
  • Understanding of testing principles
  • Knowledge of release management practices
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker

Responsibilities

  • Decompose and modularize build processes for reusability across multiple projects
  • Debug CMake, pip, and conda issues encountered in CI and local builds
  • Work on scripting and infrastructure to manage dependencies across various environments and build systems
  • Bring up builds and CI across platforms including x86_64 and arm64 as well as various operating systems
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to identify the support matrix and manage the scope of the build matrix
  • Automate scheduled work for all of the above responsibilities
