Qualcomm IT is seeking a Kubernetes generalist to assist with the construction, deployment, management, automation, and troubleshooting of high-performance Kubernetes clusters. The role involves working with both on-prem and cloud-based environments, utilizing tools like Rancher, RKE2, GKE, EKS, and AKS. Candidates will join a mature team of Kubernetes platform administrators and will have opportunities for growth through project work and mentorship. Daily tasks include monitoring cluster performance and developing automation scripts.

• Comfortable using and developing on Linux, especially Ubuntu.
• 2+ years of Kubernetes administration experience.
• Proficiency in Kustomize or Helm, preferably both.
• Intermediate knowledge of Kubernetes CNI networking internals, notably Cilium.
• Direct experience deploying and maintaining enterprise Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency with Docker/ContainerD and Linux container internals.
• Advanced proficiency with git and GitHub.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes control plane architecture and troubleshooting.
• Intermediate proficiency with Python or Go.
• Intermediate proficiency with bash scripting.
• Comfortable with Agile project management in JIRA.

• Assist with the construction and deployment of Kubernetes clusters.
• Manage and automate high-performance bare-metal and cloud-based Kubernetes environments.
• Monitor performance and availability of all Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop and deploy platform automation scripts and software.
• Participate in project work such as implementing self-healing system automation.
• Test, validate, and deploy new Kubernetes versions.
• Transform existing platform automation to utilize new Kubernetes functionality.
• Test and integrate new high-performance bare-metal compute platforms.
• Implement and troubleshoot novel Kubernetes multi-tenancy patterns.
• Migrate Gatekeeper OPA policies to Validating Admission Policy.
