Job description

The role at Qualcomm involves designing and developing multimedia technologies that enhance human and machine perception. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 6+ years.
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • 11+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in multimedia technology areas such as speech, audio, imaging, computer vision, display, sensing, biometrics, or augmented/virtual reality.

Responsibilities

  • Align multiple teams to address issues and generate solutions while creating well-defined architectures.
  • Execute design reviews and drive platform development and system performance.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to gather and agree upon customer requirements.
  • Oversee technical vision for testing and guide teams through validation processes.
  • Educate teams on appropriate tools and analyses to address issues.
  • Review escalated algorithm issues and provide direction and coaching.
  • Evaluate topologies against performance and cost variables to guide design decisions.
  • Act as an expert resource on industry trends and advancements in multimedia systems.
  • Reinforce technical conversations and resolve design issues across teams.
  • Develop and redesign organizational strategies for various functional areas.
