Qualcomm's GPU Research Team is seeking talented GPU architects to enhance advanced 3D GPU capabilities, focusing on areas such as Ray Tracing, Neural Rendering, and Machine Learning. The role involves collaboration with software and hardware design teams, as well as standardization bodies and customers, to develop new GPU architectural features. A strong understanding of GPU architecture and programming models is essential, along with familiarity with APIs like Vulkan and OpenGL. The team is responsible for advancing graphics processing units and improving tools for debugging and optimizing applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Strong understanding of GPU architecture, programming models, and applications.
- Familiarity with APIs such as Vulkan, D3D, OpenGL, and/or OpenCL.
- Working knowledge of C/C++ is required.
- Python programming skills are a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Discover customer requirements for next generation architectural features.
- Turn ideas into a complete Feature Development Specification that includes all aspects of the new functionality.
- Create simulators to explore and validate functional and performance behaviors.
- Help educate internal implementation teams.
- Contribute to the standardization efforts.
