Job description

Qualcomm's Robotics Audio R&D/Systems team is seeking professionals to enhance AI models for speech enhancement and related technologies in San Diego. The role focuses on developing advanced algorithms that support voice interaction in robotics and automotive systems. Candidates should demonstrate technical excellence in AI methodologies and creativity in applying their skills to innovative technologies. The team works on a wide range of audio technology products, including smartphones, headsets, and IoT devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
  • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Expertise in deep learning techniques, including knowledge of CNNs, RNNs, and autoencoders.
  • Experience with advanced signal processing and adaptive beamforming.

Responsibilities

  • Advance AI techniques for voice interaction in robotics and automotive.
  • Conduct cutting-edge research in speech enhancement with linear and distributed microphone arrays.
  • Use multi-microphone AI to detect talker count and directionality.
  • Apply multi-rate and adaptive signal processing expertise.
  • Prototype and demonstrate research concepts.
  • File patents and publish papers on innovative research relevant to products.
