Job description

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking innovative engineers to join their Systems Research Department, focusing on the evolution of wireless communication systems such as 5G and Wi-Fi. The role involves developing a deep understanding of complex problems through data-driven analysis and guiding solutions from the lab to real-world deployment. Engineers will work on end-to-end systems solutions and cross-layer optimizations for various applications including wearables and automotive. Successful candidates will contribute to research and development efforts that shape future wireless technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree and 1+ year of experience, or a PhD in a related field.
  • Experience in digital/wireless communications, including information theory and signal processing.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++/MATLAB/Python.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux computing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and contribute to research systems engineering for the evolution of 5G, 6G, and Wi-Fi radio technologies.
  • Conduct research on system architecture, protocols, virtualization, and AI-native wireless technologies.
  • Perform theoretical analysis, simulation, and prototyping.
  • Actively participate in design and review sessions.
  • Contribute to Qualcomm’s IP portfolio and provide systems support for research testbeds.
  • Participate in working groups of standards organizations including IEEE and 3GPP.
