Job description

Qualcomm is seeking talented engineers to join the Hypervisor team, which focuses on enabling virtualization across various chipset products for mobile, automotive, compute, and IoT. The role involves developing software for SMMU and hypervisor layers that are crucial for platform security and performance. Engineers will work with large software stacks, including Bootloaders and Linux, and will have opportunities to collaborate with global teams. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about OS, kernel, and computer architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • 2+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and kernels.
  • Experience with Linux, kernel, bootloader, or OS development.
  • Knowledge of ARM CPU architecture, IOMMU, and ARM SMMU.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate SoC firmware features and diagnostics for QCT boot platforms.
  • Coordinate and collaborate across various technical areas including software, hardware, ASIC, and architecture teams.
  • Pay attention to details during all phases of firmware design, development, integration, testing, and release.
  • Work with emulation and hardware design teams to verify and debug firmware and resolve platform issues.
  • Triage software issues, conduct defect investigations, and provide problem resolution.
