Job description

Qualcomm is seeking candidates for its Emulation Team, which is part of the central SoC digital hardware organization. The team focuses on the development and support of SoC pre-silicon platforms, collaborating closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, and software engineers. Candidates should have experience in emulation platforms and tools, as well as a solid understanding of SoC functionality. This role requires expertise in various technical disciplines, including FPGA prototyping and system debug.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in emulation and silicon environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • Experience in design, development, and deployment of global methodologies for emulation build generation and debug.
  • Proficient in Python and TCL scripting.
  • Expertise in Verilog / SystemVerilog and experience with C programming.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-site teams and engage with vendors for effective communication.
  • Conduct pre-silicon prototyping for new SoC designs, including enablement and bring-up.
  • Bring up new FPGA emulation/prototyping hardware and software.
  • Debug low-level software and hardware issues using tools like JTAG and kernel debuggers.
  • Validate and debug digital circuits and understand CPU and SoC architectures.
