Job description

The role at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. focuses on overseeing the design, verification, and documentation of various CMOS mixed analog/digital blocks. The engineer will be involved in all aspects of the design process, from system definition to circuit design and simulation. This position requires heavy involvement in layout oversight and silicon evaluation. The ideal candidate will utilize design tools like Cadence ADE and MATLAB while contributing to new initiatives in analog design automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years of experience using design tools such as CADENCE, SPICE, MATLAB, and/or Verilog/VHDL.

Responsibilities

  • Use advanced tools to build and improve architecture and circuit designs for multiple blocks.
  • Work with layout teams to oversee block-level layout of multiple blocks.
  • Define verification plans for portions of IP or chip and run complex simulations and analyses.
  • Design, program, and run complex tests while reviewing tests of junior team members.
  • Consult with internal or external users and third-party vendors to guide implementation.
  • Write clear and detailed technical documentation and design descriptions for complex projects.
  • Conduct research on industry trends and innovations in analog or mixed-signal integrated circuit design.
