Job description

As a Design Engineer at Qualcomm, you will be integral in developing advanced digital designs, focusing on micro-architecture and RTL development. Your role will involve troubleshooting and debugging during the development process, as well as supporting post-silicon activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal design performance while maintaining comprehensive documentation. This position requires a strong background in ASIC design and a passion for innovative problem-solving.

Requirements

  • 6-10+ years of work experience with RTL/FPGA design using Verilog or System Verilog.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in computer science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering experience.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design micro-architecture for both simple and complex digital interface blocks.
  • Develop RTL code using industry best practices while considering multi-clock designs and high-frequency requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues during the development process and support post-silicon bring-up activities.
  • Create comprehensive design documentation to ensure clarity and maintainability.
  • Optimize designs for key metrics such as area, power, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DFT, Implementation, Verification, Emulation, and Firmware teams.
