Job description
Qualcomm is seeking a Principal Engineer for its Camera System Engineering team to coordinate with external image sensor vendors and facilitate the development of advanced imaging systems. The role requires a deep understanding of CMOS image sensor development, including system definition, design, and manufacturing. The engineer will work on innovative technologies that enhance connected experiences across various domains such as Mobile, Automotive, and IoT. Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in CMOS Image Sensor development.
- 4+ years in a technical leadership role with direct reports.
- 3+ years of experience interacting with executive leadership.
- 3+ years of experience integrating CMOS image sensors with backend ISP.
- 2+ years of experience in camera hardware or systems design and optimization.
- 2+ years of experience working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
Responsibilities
- Leverage expert Camera Engineering knowledge to research, design, develop, verify, debug, implement, and validate complex camera systems.
- Collect and analyze sensor/module roadmaps to predict industrial trends and develop strategies for new imaging technologies.
- Partner with external vendors to influence and align their future roadmaps with Qualcomm's imaging system design.
- Collaborate with ecosystem partners to develop innovative imaging technologies and end-to-end features.
- Translate customer needs and requirements into long-term tasks and plans.
- Act as a technical lead and facilitate collaboration across organizations to optimize camera systems.
- Write detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex Camera projects.
