Job description
The Staff Engineer at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is a senior individual contributor focused on leading the design, implementation, and delivery of complex board-level hardware subsystems for automotive platform products. This role involves significant technical contributions across cross-functional teams and requires a high degree of independence. The engineer will oversee board-level execution from concept through production, ensuring alignment with system architecture and requirements. The position emphasizes collaboration with various teams to resolve issues and enhance design robustness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
- 10+ years of experience in board-level hardware design is preferred.
- Strong background in high-speed digital, power delivery, and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture, simulation, and hardware debug tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead board-level hardware design for assigned automotive subsystems or reference designs.
- Own board bring-up, debug, and validation across various conditions.
- Drive power architecture implementation, clocking, reset, and sequencing for designs.
- Conduct and participate in schematic, layout, and design reviews to ensure design robustness.
- Partner with system, software, safety, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to align hardware design with system requirements.
- Support hardware readiness through DV, PV, and SOP milestones, including issue tracking.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers through technical guidance and design reviews.
