Job description

As a Qualcomm CPU Architecture Engineer, you will design and architect advanced CPUs that enhance performance, energy efficiency, and scalability. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve compute products from conceptualization to post-silicon verification. You will focus on CPU performance modeling and exploration, contributing ideas for advanced CPU features and working closely with design teams. The position requires a strong background in CPU architecture and performance analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • Strong knowledge of CPU architecture and micro-architecture.
  • Experience in a performance modeling environment.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ and scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
  • Ability to problem solve and validate your own ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CPU Performance Architecture and RTL team members to identify opportunities for product improvement.
  • Analyze workloads to identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Perform self-guided performance simulation studies of design alternatives.
  • Write and maintain features and sections of the CPU architectural performance model.
  • Work with RTL and design teams to assess implementation costs for new features.
  • Collaborate with the performance team to maintain and improve the simulation environment.
