As a CPU Performance Modeling Architect at Qualcomm, you will be responsible for architecting and designing high-performance CPUs that enhance performance, energy efficiency, and scalability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to explore advanced CPU performance features and model them for productization. This role requires a strong background in CPU architecture and performance modeling, as well as collaboration with design teams to assess implementation costs. Your contributions will help drive the development of state-of-the-art compute products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
- 2+ years of CPU Architecture work experience.
- 2+ years of programming experience in languages such as C and C++.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in one or more areas of CPU architecture including fetch, decode, and branch prediction.
- Collaborate with CPU Performance Architecture and RTL team members to identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Analyze workloads to identify performance bottlenecks and opportunities.
- Perform self-guided performance simulation studies of design alternatives.
- Write and maintain features and sections of the CPU architectural performance model.
- Work with RTL and design teams to assess implementation costs for new features.
- Collaborate with the performance team to maintain and improve the simulation environment.
