As a CPU Physical Design CAD engineer at Qualcomm, you will be part of a team focused on developing and supporting high-performance implementation tools and flows for custom CPUs. Your work will directly impact the power, performance, and area of industry-leading silicon designs. You will collaborate with talented engineers and work closely with worldwide CPU physical design teams to achieve class-leading results. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years.
- Ten+ years of hands-on experience in place-and-route of high-performance chips.
- High level of proficiency in Tcl and Python.
- Experience with automation and a wide variety of Physical Design tasks.
- Solid understanding of digital design, timing analysis, and physical verification.
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and release new features in high-performance place-and-route CAD flow.
- Architect and recommend methodology improvements for optimal silicon performance.
- Maintain, support, and debug implementation flows while resolving project-specific issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications.
- Write detailed technical documentation for complex CPU designs and review documentation of junior engineers.
