Job description

As a Qualcomm Video Engineer, you will work on innovative video systems and hardware architecture that enhance daily life through advanced video and computer vision technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze customer requirements and develop complex video systems for various markets including mobile and automotive. You will leverage your expertise to drive the development of critical video codecs and ensure high performance metrics are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • 4+ years of applicable video hardware and/or systems experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software.
  • 4+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 1+ year of experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership.
  • 1+ year in a technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage advanced Video and Computer Vision Engineering knowledge to research and develop critical video codec and computer vision hardware.
  • Design, develop, implement, and verify complex video systems and hardware and firmware tasks.
  • Perform complex architecture, standard study, algorithm, and feature decomposition to drive requirements for hardware development.
  • Ensure advanced KPIs, systems performance, and area and power metrics are met.
  • Drive triage of complex problems to determine root causes and address issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to analyze product requirements for new architecture and modifications.
  • Lead the design of video systems and develop complex features and components in line with proposals or roadmaps.
  • Write detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex projects.
