Job description

The role is within the Post Silicon Engineering group at Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., focusing on developing test solutions for WLAN SOCs. The team is responsible for characterizing WLAN transceivers and related components, ensuring compliance with specifications. Engineers will work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from definition to release. The position also involves assisting in hardware design and debugging power and signal integrity issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Familiarity with RF, mixed-signal, and digital test methods.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or .NET C# is preferred.
  • Familiarity with wireless peripheral standards such as WLAN, UWB, GPS, FM, and Bluetooth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute characterization plans to optimize design parameters and validate specification compliance.
  • Drive initial silicon bring-up and debug processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams from initial product definition through to customer release.
  • Assist in hardware design and debug power integrity and signal integrity issues related to package and board design.
